TWO FULL SCHOLARSHIPS for Rom-com & Christmas screenwriters to attend a writing retreat in a medieval castle in Spain!
We're delighted to announce that we're offering TWO FULL SCHOLARSHIPS, as well as several partial ones, to be mentored, in person, by top industry mentors at a medieval castle in Spain next March!
The Early March 2026 Retreat (https://rocabertiwriters.com/retreats/early-march-2026/) will be aimed at Destination Romance, Rom-com and Romance feature and TV writers (books also welcome!).
The mid-March 2026 Retreat (https://rocabertiwriters.com/retreats/mid-march-2026/) will be aimed at the highly-lucrative Christmas movie market.
The mentors at these specially-themed Retreats are:
Diane Drake, whose first produced original script, ONLY YOU, starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Marisa Tomei, sold for one million dollars, while her second produced script, WHAT WOMEN WANT, starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, is the second highest grossing romantic comedy of all time.
Sabrina Parra, the former Vice President of Di Novi Pictures (LITTLE WOMEN, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS, and who most recently was on the producing team for the hit Apple film THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE.
Award-winning Rom-com & Christmas director and screenwriter, Isabel Dréan, (SECRET SANTA, CHRISTMAS BENEATH THE STARS, CHRISTMAS ON THE ROCKS, THE HOLIDAY SWAP, AN ECLECTIC CHRISTMAS).
Literary Manager Chris Deckard, co-founder of management/production company, Fictional Entity, who has spent over seven years working with and representing talent at major agencies such as ICM Partners and WME, who'll be discussing the business side of how to actually sell your script, once it's written!

— THE SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST IS FREE TO ENTER —
In addition to the full scholarship winner, top-ranking finalists will be offered a partial scholarship of 2,500 euros towards the retreat fees. (Usual cost: 6,495 euros.)

Entrance Fee: None. We just ask that you share the link to the Scholarship page on social media. 🙂
Please open the scholarship form below where you will be asked to:
a) Send a brief outline of your Rom-com or Christmas screenplay, TV pilot or novel (max: 500 words), as well as explaining why you believe you're deserving of the scholarship (max: 400 words).
b) Please also confirm that you can cover the remaining retreat fees (3,995 euros, instead of the usual fees of 6,495 euros) if awarded a Partial Scholarship of 2,500 euros.
c) Finally, don't forget to include the screenshot of your social media share!
