One Full Scholarship to be Mentored by Chris Vogler ('The Writers' Journey')

We're thrilled to let you know that the wonderful Christopher Vogler, the author of The Writer’s Journey: Mythic Structure for Writers* (widely considered to be the ‘Screenwriters’ Bible’), will be mentoring at the May 21st-26th, 2027 Rocaberti Retreat at Sant Mori Castle in Spain!

*Originally an influential memo Chris wrote for Walt Disney Animation executives regarding The Lion King, The Writer’s Journey details a twelve-stage, myth-inspired method that has galvanised Hollywood’s treatment of cinematic storytelling. The book has changed the face of screenwriting worldwide over the last 25 years, and continues to do so.

After the publication of The Writer’s Journey, Chris had a hand in developing the stories of many productions, including Disney’s remake of 101 Dalmatians, Fox’s Fight Club, Courage Under Fire, Volcano, The Thin Red Line and many others.

He will be personally mentoring just 4 writers during the May 2027 Retreat and, in addition to ONE FULL SCHOLARSHIP to attend, we’re also offering several partial ones!

Other industry experts joining Chris at the retreat include:

Diane Drake, whose first produced original script, ONLY YOU, starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Marisa Tomei, sold for one million dollars, while her second produced script, WHAT WOMEN WANT, starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, is the second highest grossing romantic comedy of all time.

BAFTA-winning director & screenwriter, Dan Zeff.

Screenwriter, Teacher & Story Consultant Scott Myers, author of The Protagonist’s Journey: An Introduction to Character-Driven Screenwriting and Storytelling.

Literary Manager Chris Deckard, co-founder of the management/production company Fictional Entity, with over 7 years' experience at major agencies such as ICM Partners and WME.

"The Rocaberti Writers' Retreat was a game changer for me. Claire Elizabeth Terry’s astute pairing of writers and mentors was key, as was the calibre of all the participating executives. I learned something from all of them - and had a great time to boot! The experience far exceeded my expectations. I could not more highly recommend it!"
